Helen Hayes Brown was born in Washington, D.C. on October 10, 1900. Her parents were Frank and Catherine “Essie” Brown. With her mother’s encouragement, Hayes made her stage debut at the age of five and began performing both in amateur productions as well as the stock company, The Columbia Players. While performing in a recital for Miss Minnie Hawke’s School of Dance, Hayes was spotted by Lew Fields. F. Scott Fitzgerald was born Sept. 24, 1896 in St. Paul Minnesota. He began writing while a student at Princeton University. He met his wife, Zelda, while serving in the US Army stationed in Alabama. His novel, This Side of Paradise, was published in 1920 and he became an instant success. He published he Great Gatsby in 1925. Fitzgerald died on December 21, 1940 of a heart attack at age 44 while living in Los Angeles and working for the film industry....
